Privacy Policy

SingRange is developed by Juan Gracia. The short version: SingRange has no accounts and never records or transmits your voice. What leaves your device is usage analytics tied to a random app identifier, crash reports and any feedback you choose to send, and, only if you turn on the AI features, a short summary of a result (voice type, notes, language and country). None of it is sold, used for advertising, or used to track you across other apps or websites.

Microphone

SingRange uses your device's microphone to detect the pitch of your voice in real time. This is the core function of the app.

• Audio is analyzed live, on your device, to estimate the musical note you are singing.
• Audio is never recorded, never saved, and never transmitted anywhere.
• No audio data is sent to us or to any third party.

You can revoke microphone access at any time in your device's Settings. The pitch features will stop working, but the rest of the app remains usable.

Information stored on your device

SingRange saves your vocal range results and history and your preferences (theme, language, reference pitch, notation, voice category, and whether the AI features are on) in the app's local storage on your device. It is not backed up to our servers. Deleting the app removes it.

AI features: share captions and artist and song suggestions

SingRange has two optional AI features: the one-line caption on your share card, and artist and song suggestions on the results screen. Both use Claude, an AI model by Anthropic.

• Off until you agree. Nothing is sent until you tap "Find my artists and songs", which tells you what is sent and to whom; that tap turns on both features. Until then the app uses its built-in captions and suggestions.
• You can turn them off at any time in Settings, under "AI features". With them off, nothing is sent and the app uses its built-in captions and suggestions.
• What is sent: your voice type, your lowest and highest notes (and the size of your range), whether you chose male or female singers, your app language, the country of your device's region setting, and, for the caption, your closest artist from the app's own artist list.
• What is never sent: audio, your name or contact details, your device identifier, or any account information (there is none). Earlier versions sent a random app identifier with share captions; SingRange 1.0.4 no longer sends it.
• Who processes it: the request goes through our service on Cloudflare, which forwards the summary to Anthropic (United States) to generate the text. Anthropic acts as our service provider, does not use this data to train its models, and may keep it for a limited period under its own policy. Generated captions and suggestions may be cached by voice type, range, language and country, never per person.
• Rate limits: to prevent abuse, our Cloudflare service counts requests per IP address per day. That count, keyed by your IP address, is deleted automatically after 48 hours. Your IP address is not sent to Anthropic.
• Not available in mainland China, Hong Kong or Macau. Anthropic does not offer its service there, so in those regions the AI features are not shown, nothing is sent, and the app uses its built-in captions and suggestions.
• If you are offline or the service is unavailable, the app uses its built-in captions and suggestions instead. Sharing and suggestions always work without the service.

Usage analytics

To understand which features are used and to fix problems, SingRange records usage events with PostHog (servers in the European Union): which screens you open, starting and finishing a vocal range test (including the lowest and highest notes and voice type it found), sharing, using the AI features, and changing a setting, together with your app version, platform, language, device region, and settings such as theme and voice category.

• It is tied to a random identifier the app creates on your device, not to your name, email, account, or any real-world identity (SingRange has none of these). PostHog keeps a profile for that random identifier.
• It is not used to track you across other apps or websites, and is never sold or shared for advertising.
• It never includes your audio or microphone input. Session recording is disabled.

Crash reports and feedback

SingRange uses Sentry (servers in the European Union) to learn when the app crashes or hits an error, and to receive the messages you send with "Suggest something / Report a bug" in Settings.

• A crash report contains the error, where in the app it happened, your app version, and your device and operating system type. We configure it not to attach your IP address or personal details.
• Feedback contains only the text you type, plus the app version. Do not include personal information unless you want us to have it (for example, an email address so we can reply).

Where your data is processed

The services above process data outside your country: Cloudflare (globally), Anthropic (United States), PostHog and Sentry (European Union). We use them only to provide and improve SingRange.

Your choices and rights

• Turn the AI features off in Settings at any time.
• Revoke microphone access in your device's Settings.
• Delete the app to remove everything stored on your device.
• Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR in the EU or the PIPL in China), you may have the right to access, correct or delete data about you, or to object to its use. Because SingRange has no accounts, we cannot link analytics or crash data to you without more information; write to us and we will help as far as we can.

Information we do not collect

SingRange does not:

• Collect your name, email address, phone number, contacts, or precise location.
• Use accounts or require sign-in.
• Record, store, or transmit your voice or microphone audio.
• Show advertising, or track you across other apps and websites.

Children's privacy

SingRange does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children. The data described above is not linked to anyone's identity. The app is suitable for users of all ages.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, we will update this page and revise the effective date above.
