Privacy Policy
Effective date: July 5, 2026
SingRange is developed by Juan Gracia. The short version: SingRange has no accounts and never records or transmits your voice. The only things that leave your device are anonymous, aggregate usage analytics that help us improve the app and, when you choose to share your result, a small summary of that result used to caption your share card (see below). Neither is ever linked to your identity, sold, or used to track you across other apps or websites.
Microphone
SingRange uses your device's microphone to detect the pitch of your voice in real time. This is the core function of the app.
- Audio is analyzed live, on your device, to estimate the musical note you are singing.
- Audio is never recorded, never saved, and never transmitted anywhere.
- No audio data is sent to us or to any third party.
You can revoke microphone access at any time in your device's Settings. The pitch features will stop working, but the rest of the app remains usable.
Information stored on your device
SingRange saves a small amount of data locally on your device so the app remembers your activity and settings:
- Your vocal range test results and history.
- Your preferences (theme, language, reference pitch, notation, and similar settings).
This information is stored only in the app's local storage on your device. It is not uploaded, backed up to our servers, or shared with anyone (when you tap share, a summary of the shared result is sent to generate a caption, as described below). Deleting the app removes this data.
Anonymous usage analytics
To understand which features are used and to fix problems, SingRange records a small amount of anonymous, aggregate usage data using PostHog (processed on servers in the European Union). This covers product-interaction events such as which screens you open, when you start or finish a vocal range test, sharing a result, and changing a setting, together with your app version, platform, and the language/region reported by your device.
- It is tied only to a random, app-generated identifier, not to your name, email, account, or any real-world identity (SingRange has none of these).
- It is not used to track you across other apps or websites, and is never sold or shared for advertising.
- It never includes your audio, your microphone input, or your saved range results.
- Session recording is disabled.
AI share captions
When you tap "Share my range", SingRange asks our caption service to write the short one-line caption shown on your share card. To do this, the app sends only a summary of the result you are sharing: your voice type, your lowest and highest note names, the size of your range, your closest artist match, and your app language. This happens only when you share, never in the background.
- The summary contains no audio, no name or contact details, and no identifier that links it to you.
- It is processed transiently to generate the caption (via our Cloudflare service and Anthropic's Claude API) and is not used to build a profile of you. Generated captions may be cached by voice type and range, never per person.
- If you are offline or the service is unavailable, the app uses one of its built-in captions instead and nothing is sent. Sharing always works without the service.
Information we do not collect
SingRange does not:
- Collect personal information such as your name, email address, or precise location.
- Use accounts or require sign-in.
- Record, store, or transmit your voice or microphone audio.
- Show advertising, or track you across other apps and websites.
Children's privacy
SingRange does not knowingly collect personal data from anyone, including children. The anonymous usage analytics described above contain no personal information. The app is safe for users of all ages.
